  The Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Office of the Education Ombudsman are called on by The Washington State Legislature to convene a Work Group on school bullying and harassment prevention to develop, recommend, and implement strategies to improve school climate and create respectful learning environments in all public schools in Washington. Worked to create a safe, nurturing environment at this shelter for adolescents run by Community Youth Services, while providing consistent structure to minimize crisis behavior.
